Our goal is to build a creative team of Farmer - Florists who will help cultivate the natural beauty that
Crooked Barn Flower Farm is well-known for.

Over the past 6 years, we have worked with both experienced and new farming individuals.
We welcome all skill sets and guarantee you will learn a lot at the farm at whatever level.
There are job descriptions for each position with many cross-overs in daily tasks in both the farming and floral design positions.
We “wear all hats” here and you will find the work exciting and challenging.

Are you?

  • Willing to accept feedback and implement it quickly.

  • A trustworthy and hardworking individual.

  • Self-motivated to complete tasks alone or with a coworker promptly.

  • Able to lift heavy objects approximately 50 lbs.

  • Able to work all day on your feet in intense heat, rain, or shine.

  • Willing to dress in proper attire to avoid injury. ie wearing sunscreen, a hat, and proper footwear ( no sandals).

  • Reliable and able to get to work on time. (arriving to work late will not be tolerated)



Jobs on the farm Include:

  • Field Preparation- Soil amending with compost and fertilizer, field layout, row preparation, laying out landscape fabric, irrigation installation, staking, and support.

  • Seeding in propagation trays and direct in the field.

  • Field maintenance - planting seedlings, watering, weeding, cultivating, deadheading, and pruning.

  • Harvesting - Practicing daily harvest and post-harvest procedures like filling buckets, cutting stems, and transporting.

  • Prepare weekly bouquets for our CSA and walk-in customers.

  • Assist in wedding and event design.

  • Selling bouquets and other merchandise in our retail barn shop.

  • Delivering our weekly CSA bouquets.



Positions Available For the 2024 season:

  • Farmer/ Florist: This is a seasonal position from April to October.
    Tasks include creating bouquets, retail sales at Crooked Barn, and managing the weekly CSA. During our busy season, approximately 20 hours per week require some Saturdays.
    Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with some Saturdays.
    Wage is $17.00/hour


  • Flower Farmer: This is a seasonal position from April to October.
    A part-time position focused mainly on field management, planting and harvesting. You truly need to be self-motivated and able to work alone. This position is roughly 24 hours a week, You must be available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
    Wage is $17.00/hour.
